Somewhere in Los Angeles

Sometimes you can listen to a track and just know that something like this can't possibly originate from somewhere other than a sundrenched island or city. When you listen to Classixx you can almost feel the heat emanating from their sounds.

They just create an amazing atmosphere with great synth sounds, percussion, smooth funky bass and ultra crisp production. Every little instrument stands out in its own sonic space and nothing ever sounds out of place.

Classixx is one group that just had an amazing 2009. Everyone knows their top notch remix of Phoenix's Listzomania and their catchy indie pop hit "I'll Get You", but those tracks are really just the tip of the iceberg. 2010 has potential to be an even bigger year for Classixx than 2009 was. Classixx is working on an original EP set to release this year, and I for one am very excited. Here we are going to feature three other gems from the Los Angeles duo.

The first track we're going to feature here is a remix of Major Lazer's Cash Flow. This remix is spectacular, it's easily the best track off the album, only it wasn't on the album. They turn the original into a beautiful, dreamy masterpiece. We're talking laying on a beach on a warm summers night. Some tiki torches burning around you, flickering in the wind. I could just lay there, close my eyes and dream of love all night.

Now who says Classixx can't just come out and straight up kill it. Get a dancefloor packed, have all the kids jumping around. They can do this with ease. Cold Act Ill is just quite simply one of the best "bangers" out there as Classixx does everything just right. Check out the dope music video below.

Lastly we are featuring a deadly combination of two of our favorite acts: Holy Ghost! and Classixx. The combination of course is fantastic. Classixx took Holy Ghost's 'I Will Come Back' and took it to Acapulco, literally. The Acapulco Nights version of I Will Come Back takes the original and drenches it in island heat and late night tropical disco. The rhythym guitar and percussion scream tropical disco and those synths just bring the 80's island heat. Pure class.

Forever day dreaming,
